RAMPAs PCF - Product Carbon Footprint
In addition to our corporate balance sheets, in collaboration with FORLIANCE we have calculated the carbon footprint for our products . The calculation is based on the survey data from 2021 year-end utilizing the so-called cradle-to-grave approach. This approach considers the emissions of all life cycle phases: from material procurement & pre-processing of the material, through production, storage, distribution and use, to ultimately disposal.
As an example the following products were balanced:
• 100,000 pieces In-house production at the production site in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany RAMPA INSERTS TYPE SK 14 X 18 M8, STEEL ZINC PLATED
• 100.000 pieces merchandise from Far East RAMPA INSERTS TYPE SKDZ 14.5 X 18 M8, ZINC DIE-CAST YELLOW ZINC PLATED
The results of the balances speak for themselves:
Our RAMPA manufactured inserts at our production site in Schleswig-Holstein have an 18.5% lower CO₂ footprint. This result once again confirms our efforts to produce resource-efficiently and sustainably in Germany and to further reduce our CO₂ footprint.
We have also recently started using th FRED - Carbon Footprint Calculator, a web-based calculation tool that is methodologically certified in accordance with ISO 14067, to determine the carbon footprint of products. We use this tool to make precise calculations that enable us to analyse emissions in detail and identify reduction potential. FRED helps us to effectively pursue our sustainability goals and contribute to an environmentally friendly future.
